Research Interests: Edible insects, environmental anthropology, perceptions of food, nature and environment

MacKenzie Wade is a third year graduate student in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She received her BA in Anthropology from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS and an MA in International Cultural Heritage Management from Durham University in the UK.  After experimenting with insects as food and developing a mealworm “farm” in 2014, she now researches the perceptions and sustainability of edible insects and broader human-nature interactions.
